Real Madrid coach Bernd Schuster is looking for a major improvement in his side's performance in the return leg of the Spanish Super Cup after their 3-2 defeat at Valencia on Sunday.
"We made life too easy for Valencia," he told reporters. "We need to play more intelligently and not lose the ball so often.... I'm sure we will play a lot better at the Bernabeu."
Valencia winger Vicente said his side's 3-2 victory over Real Madrid in the Spanish Super Cup first leg showed the team had put the troubles of last season behind them.
"We proved that last season is over and done with. It is buried forever," he told reporters. "We may be the same players but we are now playing a different type of game."
Valencia diced with relegation under Dutch coach Ronald Koeman for much of last season and are now under the guidance of former Almeria boss Unai Emery.
