For the second week running, Stephane Dalmat faces one of his former clubs – and after coming close to finding the target against PSG last Saturday, he'll be hoping to improve by a couple of inches in order to get his first goal of the season when his Sochaux side take on Marseille.
To say Dalmat's had a nomadic career would be something of an understatement – he's got through 10 clubs in the past decade, briefly becoming France's most expensive footballer before failing to settle at PSG and Marseille and taking in clubs in England, Italy and Spain while being labelled one of the biggest failures of his generation. It's true that Dalmat failed to live up to his massive potential – as a youngster, people automatically assumed he would one day replace Zinedine Zidane as the playmaker in the France team but he has never won a cap for his country – but he appears, late in the day, to have made an astute choice by settling for Sochaux.
