The Germany striker has come under no small amount of criticism already this season, so he was grateful for getting the first goal out of the way, for which he gave much credit to his club and national team-mate Bastian Schweinsteiger.
"It was terrific of Bastian to give me the ball. He was the nominated penalty taker today, and he put the first one away really well, which is why I initially gave him the ball," Klose told the club's official website.
"I had a good day today, and I'm obviously delighted I've scored again.“
Philip Lahm reinforced the importance of Klose breaking his goal duck in an interview with the Bundesliga's official website.
"For a striker it's always important to score, no matter if from the spot or from open play. He really worked hard for that goal today," said the Bayern and Germany full-back.
"He did a lot of running, took on a lot of challenges, held the ball really well and deserved to get on the scoresheet." |
