The Galatasaray defender was substituted midway through the second half of Sunday's dramatic 3-2 win over the Czech Republic and has been ruled out of the rest of Euro 2008.
The news comes as a further blow to a Turkey side already struggling with the loss of key players through injury and suspension for Friday's quarter-final meeting with Croatia in Vienna.
Goalkeeper Volkan Demirel and midfielder Mehmet Aurelio are suspended, while midfielder Tumer Metin (groin) is definitely out and Servet Cetin (knee) and Emre Belozoglu (groin) are doubtful.
Nihat Kahveci, Semih Senturk, Ayhan Akman and Hakan Balta are all expected to shake off minor knocks.
"The first thing I saw this morning when I woke up was the list of seven players injured or suspended," said coach Fatih Terim.
"At my home in Turkey I have a phrase on the wall that says: 'Nothing is impossible but miracles take time'.
"I think we saw this miracle at the Euro 2008. My players fought like lions and got the victory.
"We are determined to get through to the last stage. I have said playing in the final would suit us. Both Turkish and neutral fans would say we deserve it."
